On Monday, January 11, 2016, the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) Governing Council selected Judson Horras, CAE to become President and CEO of the trade association representing inter/national men’s fraternities. Horras most recently served as the Administrative Secretary of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, while concurrently serving as Interim President and CEO of the NIC during its historic restructuring in fall 2015.

“Judson is the ideal candidate to lead the NIC into its next generation. He brings an impressive track record of success at Beta. He led and sold the creation of a bold new strategic vision for the NIC at a time of critical need in the fraternal industry. In doing so he gained the trust and confidence of the NIC membership and the higher education community,” offered search committee chairman Mark Timmes, CEO, Pi Kappa Phi. “We see a bright future of renewed interfraternal collaboration and accountability under his leadership.”

“I’m humbled and honored to have this opportunity to lead the NIC during this historic period” Horras offered. “I’m also extremely thankful for the support that Beta Theta Pi has provided the NIC and me throughout this process.” Horras will lead the Conference as it implements the reforms and recommendations adopted in December 2015 and will transition into the full-time role over the course of this spring.

Founded in 1909, the NIC is the trade association representing inter/national men’s fraternities. The NIC’s member organizations boast more than 6,000 chapters located on more than 800 campuses in the United States and Canada, with approximately 375,000 undergraduate members and nearly 5 million alumni.
